Michael just completed shooting The Next Three Days written and directed by Paul Haggis in Pittsburgh in the summer 2010.  Michael stars as 'Mick Brennan', best friend and brother of 'John Brennan' (Russell Crowe). Other cast include Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Banks and Brian Dennehy.  Release date is November 2010.  He also just finished shooting his role of 'Brian Early' on Cedar Rapids (Miguel Arteta) with Ed Helms, Sigourney Weaver and John C. Reilly to be released later this year. 

 

Previously, Buie starred in Mystery Alaska as 'Connor Banks" in a lead role opposite Russell Crowe.  The film was written by David E. Kelley and directed by Jay Roach.  In 2006/07, Buie starred in the films Screw Cupid and Only for You shot in Portland,Oregon.  Other notable lead film credits include the Nantucket based film Ropewalk (d. Matthew Brown), Paramount's Sci-Fi thriller The McPherson Tape (d. Dean Alioto) and The Dead Water (d. Peter Conrad). 


On television, Buie starred as "Detective Lincoln Higgs" in a TNT series entitled Hard Time, The Premonition, Hostage Hotel (d. Burt Reynolds, Dave Cass, Hal Needham) opposite veterans Charles Durning, Bruce Dern and Burt Reynolds. He has had numerous roles in television movies (For the Love of Nancy, Our Mother's Murder, Panic in the Skies) and television series including the award-winning Millenium, Madison and The Outer Limits.  Buie also guest-starred on This is Wonderland directed by Bruce McDonald, Lifetime's Wild Card, Showtime's Street Time and Todd Holland's Wonderfalls for Fox.

Buie received excellent stage reviews for his intense portayal of a cocaine-addict 'Michael Stark' in Intervention staged at the Complex in Hollywood. Other stage productions included Euripides' tragedy Orestes in the lead role at UWO in London, Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, Raft of the Medusa and Light Up the Sky.  Also, he has worked in radio play productions including Grapes of Wrath directed by Richard Masur at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles.

Michael has written and developed October 13, an independent feature to be shot in Quebec in 2011.    

Michael is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, having lived and worked in Vancouver, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles.  Born in Kitchener, Canada, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a Dramatic Arts and Film Minor at the University of Western Ontario in London.  Upon completion of his degree, he moved to Los Angeles and resumed his studies in theatre at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena and with esteemed acting coach Nina Foch in Beverly Hills.     

He currently resides in Marina Del Rey, California.
